Bert Simons is a Dutch artist who makes paper by folding photorealistic 3D recreations based on triangulation, similar process to that used to model characters in video games.
Stunning sculptures that seem to come alive, is the sign of that in art we all serve and exploit technological tools at our disposal these days to create magnificent works of art like these.
To make his realistic portraits of the model first scanned paper, using points on the face to get a number of references, which then moved to the computer, which reconstructs the face with Blender, an open-source 3D. After moving 3D modeling to a 2D surface, flattening the texture, and then print it all. Finally paste the puzzle until all the sculpture.
Bert Simons manages to stop time in creating these spectacular paper sculptures in three dimensions.
